A used part is not a new part, and nobody should pretend otherwise. What you get from us is a fair period to fit it and find out whether it is good.
What is covered
Every part we sell carries a warranty against it being faulty when you got it. Mechanical and electrical parts carry longer cover than trim and panels, which are sold on the condition you can see.
If a part does not work when it is fitted correctly, bring it back. We will replace it from another vehicle if we have one, and refund it if we do not.
What is not covered
- The labour to fit it. This is the important one. We cover the part, never the cost of putting it in or taking it out again, so it is worth fitting a used part somewhere you would not mind doing the job twice.
- Damage from fitting it wrong, or from the fault that killed the original. An alternator fitted to a vehicle with a shorted loom will fail the same way the last one did.
- Wear items that were sold as worn, where the tag said so.
- Anything modified, which is the one thing that voids a warranty outright. Once a part has been drilled, cut, rewired or repainted we cannot take it back, because we can no longer tell what it was when it left us.
Keep the tag
Every part leaves here with a tag on it. It says which vehicle it came off and when you bought it, and it is how we identify the part if you bring it back. Take a photo of it before you fit the part if you are likely to lose it.
Returns that are not faults
Changed your mind, or ordered the wrong thing? Send it back inside the return period, unfitted and with the tag on, and we will refund it less the freight.
If the part was wrong because we got it wrong, the freight is on us both ways.
Your rights
None of this replaces the Consumer Guarantees Act. Parts sold to a trade buyer for resale are a different matter, and we will say so at the time.
